Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes

Launching one of the region’s most prestigious photography awards

The office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi (OBAD) launched a public initiative – the Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes annual photography competition. The competition invited citizens and residents of the UAE to capture the spirit and essence of the emirate of Abu Dhabi in a photograph. This allowed OBAD to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, encouraged them to carefully consider the brand of Abu Dhabi and then, in an artistic fashion, exhibit what they thought were the key elements that define the emirate. This act of audience engagement significantly raised awareness of the brand and its importance.

We created a successful marketing and design strategy for the emirate’s annual photography competition that generated massive amounts of traffic to the website and tripled the number of entries. Since its launch, OBAD has received more than 17,000 competition entries from 83 different nationalities, all keen to share their point of view on the emirate.






In addition, we designed and published a book to accompany the awards ceremony. The book showcases the winners and selected cross section of other highlighted images. Moreover, we hosted a spectacular prize-giving event at ADNEC. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented the prizes to the 10 winners and reviewed the winning images in a specially constructed gallery.
